How easy dose solid oak flooring damage ?

im thinking of geting solid oak folooring for the living room and hall way and am wondering how easy it gets damaged. we will not be wearing shoes in the house but im sure every now and then someone will.

i've looked at the pre finished type with lacquer.

any comments plz.....

hardwood flooring - like Oak - is pretty hard wearing. If you buy quality product that is.
If you are that worried on damages you're much better off selecting an pre-oiled finish instead of a lacquer one.
