How long for turf to root into ground this time of year?

How long will turf take to root itself into soil this time of year?
I had some laid a couple of weeks ago and it still hasn't rooted itself into the ground. The gardener told me two to three weeks.

I did some two to three weeks ago and white roots are starting to appear.
