Lumps and bumps in professionally laid lawn

They aren't flowers as such by the look of it, its the grass sending out seed heads.

Although this site specifies a particular product it applies to all turf.

Its been under-watered, for a start, and that's down to you, but the stones aren't! Don't worry about how he is going to put it right - just check that you are happy with it before he leaves.
