Help. My lawn looks OK from a distance but walk on it and it is bumpy, due to mole activity and turf being laid on badly prepared soil.
The soil is clay and goes very hard in dry weather, like walking on concrete.
I am considering starting again and was thinking of rotavating it then reseeding or returfing.
Will the averaged rotovator be able to break down turf into a reasonably fine tilth? How to I prevent my garden from drying out? My garden is surrounded by a hawthorn hedge and a large thirsty Oak tree.
Any tips much appreciated.
