Hi

Im going to fit thermostatic valves to my rads but I heard that I cant put them on all the rads as 1 needs to have a regular valve and always remain open when the rads are on. Is this correct any why? I have 15 rads, is it ok to only have 1 as a regular valve or do i need more as i have quite a few rads?

Thanks

If you have a room stat, the area monitored by this shouldn't be heated by a rad equipped with a TRV.

Whether or not it would be wise to change 14 valves for TRVs depends on whether there is a auto system bypass, and what type of pump you have.

If you are not mindful of the system hydraulics you could get water noise, pumping over, or severely curtail the lifespan of the circulation pump.

15 rads is a baby system!
