How much do i need ? Concrete / Ballast

Hi All

Sorry to bother but i have been looking at google etc and think i have confused myself.

I am filling in a pond shortly and replacing with a concrete base. The size of the area is 5m (16.4 ft) long by 2.5m (8.2ft) wide and i was going to go to 4" thick slab.

Can anyone please advise how many Ton Bags (bulk) of ballast i would need and how many bags of concrete? I guess using the 1 part cement to 6 parts ballast ratio

Thanks - so going on a ton bag is supposedly 1 cubic meter, 2 bags would suffice

Just a case of how many bags of cement now needed :-/

One tonne bag = 1/2 a cube.

You will need 2.5 - 3 tonne of ballast.

For that volume you might, depending what's available in your area, find barrowmix cheaper.

Sorry one other question - the summer house is 5m x 4m and i am seeing a lot of people say do not build to that size as you will want overhang but at the same time i dont want to come up short. What would people suggest re sizing please
