does a combi boiler create and then waste via it's condensate pipe?

I have a faulty boiler (flue - see other post) and am sort of running it with the condensate cap open and allowing it to drip into a bucket ...how much water would it create when the boiler was in nomral use? It's a ferroli Maxima 35c

Assuming you mean the condensate drain from under the boiler? I'd allow for a litre an hour when working. It will vary depending on the load on the boiler at any given time.

Bear in mind that if the boiler does not have an inside trap, or it is not high enough, or it leaks, or dries out, you are pumping PoC into your house.
