When I was new to the DIY game I decided to install some low-voltage downlighters in my bedroom. Got them home, read the instructions "use card template with drawing pin and sharp pencil to mark out hole".

I realised that wouldn't give a very neat hole. I had seen holesaws in the past, but it was Sunday afternoon and I wanted to get them in. What could I use to drill a neat hole in a plasterboard ceiling? Aha! A flat woodbit!

So I fitted the bit to the drill, poked it against the ceiling and pulled the trigger... dust everywhere. Unfortunately I wasn't even wearing a mask or goggles as I was only expecting a bit of dust. Only did that once, on one hole... And the artex is 1985 so should be asbestos free I hope.
