Whether any sane person would do it, is a different question, and one that is not relevant to Trump.

His definitions would not become part of a trade agreement, because an agreement requires, er, agreement.

Nobody is signing up to tariffs via trade agreements. But you know this.

It should be broadly reciprocal, though.

In these cases:

EU had approx 1% tariff, Trump charged them 20%
Taiwan had approx 5% tariff, Trump charged them 32%
Vietnam had approx 9% tariff, Trump charged them 46%
