Hi,

I am trying to recreate the look in the photo.

I won’t clad above the fireplace. Just the space inside the wooden fire surround.

I have a wooden fire surround painted white. I have a hearth, and will get an electric fire (rather than the open space there, am just going to put a black electric fire.

what I’m trying to understand is how do I get brick effect around the fire? I can see brickslips, or polystyrene cladding.

i was hoping for brick veneer/cladding but everything I can see is 65mm. I want something thinner than that.

Is it just the case I need brick tiles?

I am not sure how to achieve this part of the project.

Anyone?! Or is this better off in the decorating section?

Any help appreciated here

It looks like whoever made that just took the plaster off the brickwork and left it bare.

Whether you could do the same depends on how good your brickwork is around the fireplace. Its often pretty poor.

Yeah mine is nowhere near good enough, hence I will use a veneer. It’s also too big a gap
