I'm currently fitting skirting around my newly plastered and painted room. I'm thinking of staining it with Colron Georgian medium oak dye so will be gripfilling skirting to the walls.

Just want to know what is the best way of filling the gaps between the skirting & wall, I can only think of masking the top of the skirting then caulk it, paint the caulk the same as wall and then dye the wood.

Is this the only way? Thinking of maybe dyeing skirting before fixing aswell.

Thanks.

You can get caulk in other colours i know for a fact you can get magnolia and a dark brown and i'm sure there are more available, also fillers are available in different colours, just apply with your finger before you stain and rub down flush

Thanks.

Think ill try masking skirting then caulking.

Can you recommend a good caulk that won't crack as some of the gaps will be about 8mm wide due to uneven plaster ?
