Hi,

I am thinking of putting down the laminate flooring myself. Unfortunately I have a challenging floor. The builders has come in to correct the big dip in the middle of the floor (old victorian house but badly modified  ) by replacing the old floor boards, joists etc After quick inspection I still seem to have 5mm dip/slide, possibly more but I don't know how to measure from where. So my question is how can I find the highest point of the floor? I was thinking of filling extra fibreboard (rather than the latex compound) wherever the dip is but if I don't find the highest point I may come across a problem at later stage and may have to do it all over again. Please give me some advice.
Thanks
rayy

A long spirit level is the only way I can think of! Measure in all directions, and you should at least have an idea of which part is higher.
