how to fit a 2d bulkhead to ceiling

Hi
I brought a 2d bulkhead fitting for a bathroom. Am a little bit confused as to how to screw it onto the ceiling. It has no screw holes unlike a ceiling rose. Do I just make my own? Wouldn't that derate it's ip rating?

Surely it has blanked screw holes which can be knocked out where needed.
