Hi everyone,

I hope you can help. I am in the process of changing the cloakroom mixer tap as it has stopped working. Im trying to remove the threaded rod or bolt but there is very limited space to move and I don’t know which tool will do it!!

None of the tools can be placed at 90 degrees to the rod because of the the dip on the sink.

Any advice? I have no clue here! I have attached photos in case that helps.

Thank you everyone!

As above ,you need a box spanner. You can buy a set of 3 for around 10 quid. One of them will fit your taps nut.

Monobloc tap box spanner... Of the correct size.
They come in sets with a range of nut sizes usually and are around 150 mms long, but do check as that varies a bit, too.

All the usual diy places sell them.

You'll need them when fitting the new tap. Smear a bit of silicone grease on the bolt threads to help reduce future corrosion.

Thank you so much everyone! I popped to screwfix and bought the set above. Bolt came off easy as anything and the new tap is fitted and working well. I really appreciate all the advice, thank you!
