We bought 2.5 litres of brown paint - say a light colour of chocolate - not dark and not light - somewhere in the middle

The paint was silk dulux

We bought a packet of gold dust from B&Q

Result: nothing. Can't see ANY sparkles

The paint was mixed really well with a drill.

Surely it can't be the brown? It's not exactly close to the gold sparkles

Help!

Thanks

You need a certain amount per litre. Pour in and stir for quite a while. I used some in some grey silk finish earlier this year. It did work to my surprise :). You have to keep stirring the paint to make sure it doesn't settle to the bottom of the tin.

Ive not tried glitter in silk but have in matt softsheen remember if using glitter in darker colours your 1St coat will give you 5% coverage leave to dry for about 2hours before putting the 2nd coat on try using a medium pile roller and dont go just up down go all directions so you get a even spread on the wall most important keep stirring the paint every couple of minutes get a mixing paddle couple of quid at toolstation so remember stir paint before you add it and every couple of mins after its added if u still havnt got the desired effect after its dry you could get a scourer our pad and go over the wall lightly buffering it This will uncover the glitter even more...try changing the lighting in the room aswell to LED...
