hi
My problem is I have just re boarded my kitchen ceiling and when I took down the old light fitting I found a bunch of cables just stuffed up in the ceiling
There appears to be
the two normal loop in loop out,
the switch line (3 core) a cable for a outside light
Another loop in to a second kitchen light
And another live pair (not sure what for ?)
I want to put a light fitting up so what's the best way to deal with this bunch of cables
I'm just not sure there will be room in most light fittings for the connections
I can't get to the floor above to put them in a joint box and the new ceiling is up
What should I do ???

Tape the cables together so that the sheaths all end at the same place.

Fit rose to ceiling with sheaths just inside the hole.

Cut and connect all the CPCs(earths) to terminal ensuring they do not cross and trap other conductors keeping flat to ceiling.
Cut and connect all Neutrals ensuring they do not cross and trap remaining conductors.
Cut and connect the Lines(lives) ensuring they do not cross and trap remaining conductor.
Cut and connect the Switced live.
Connect light wires.
