Looking for advice about how to get the best performance from our Viessmann 111-W 35kw storage combi. We have a 4 bed, 1 bathroom house about to undergo internal alterations including a new ensuite and want to update the plumbing from the legacy pipes left by the old vented gravity system. As part of this we are also replacing our 75 year old mains supply pipe and feeding it to the house next to the boiler. We want to ensure that we reconfigure the plumbing to maximise flow rate to bathrooms (especially showers) and to limit the impact on hot and water output when other outlets are opened.

This is the configuration which has been suggested to achieve this:
  • New 32mm MDPE mains supply pipe which enters the garage adjacent to where the boiler is situated (internal stoptap will be < 1m from boiler itself). Flow and pressure currently measured at the external stoptap as 35L/min, 3.5 bar
  • Internal stoptap > 22mm > water softener (Harveys twin tank) (outside tap to tee off before water softener in 15mm) > 22mm > T-junction (J1 and J2)
  • J1: 22mm reducing to 15mm for minimum distance possible before feeding the boiler
  • J2: 15mm feeding cold water to rest of house > T junction (J3 and J4)
  • J3: 15mm to kitchen (WM, DW, sink)
  • J4: 15mm to family bathroom > new ensuite > downstairs cloakroom
  • DHW output from boiler: 15mm > T junction (J5 and J6)
  • J5: 15mm DHW to kitchen
  • J6: 15mm DHW to family bathroom > new ensuite > downstairs cloakroom
Does the above sound reasonable? Please feed in any suggestions to optimise what we can get from this boiler. Please note that our preference would have been an unvented system which we investigated but we are very tight on space and couldn't easily fit the cylinder in, hence the storage combi.

Thanks in advance - appreciate your advice, especially from any installers which have worked with this boiler!
