Hey all

Just wondering how I would go about this? I have 3 sheets of 8 foot x 4 foot hardboard that needs to be fixed, smooth side down, without screws or nails to the t and g p5 chipboard flooring underneath.

Would an edge to edge pva coating be enough for this or something else? Do I need to treat or seal the chipboard first or can it go straight on ?

Any help would be much appreciated as I cant seem to find the answer here or anywhere!

:D

reason you cant find a answer is because what you want to do is not a recommended way of installing hardboard. Also Hardboard is a very budget way of preparing a subfloor that is only any good for floating floorcoverings.

Tell me more why you want to do this and maybe we can suggest a better method?

What is the purpose of installing the plywood?
why can you only glue it down?
