Hi folks,

just after a bit of advice really.
I had a complete new system installed last nov.

Its a closed system with a biasi 32kw midi combi boiler, 7 radson rads with optima trv,s (except bathroom and hallway which is the one nearest the thermostat - honeywell by the way)

I live in a hard water area and I have had to let quite a lot of water out of the system since the installer fitted it due to moving a rad, and removing some of them to decorate etc.

Anyway, I'd just like to know what I can do to maximise the life expectancy of my boiler and the system as a whole. I dont know if the installer mixed any additives with the original water, but if he did, its liable to be very diluted by now.

I know biasi dont have the best reputation, but its been working very well up to now (touch wood) and I'd like to do my best to ensure it does so for as long as possible.

cheers,

Jimmy

Worth fitting a combi mate to your rising main to stop limescale sticking to your DHW exchanger. Something like THIS will extend your boiler life.
Fernox inhibitor will help too. :D

cheers bahco. I may be a bit screwed there as I cant expose enough of the main to fit one of those. not without ripping the kitchen apart anyway. I'll check later on. how does fernox work and what does it do?

ps. My ol man lent me a spanner with bahco written on it. is that where the name origionates?
