I have a driveway where the previous owner has built up right to the house raising the external ground level almost up to the DPC - the DPC is on top of the first course of bricks from the ground in the pics.
How would you reduce the ground level on this driveway. Would you remove the line of driveway bricks against the wall of the house and dig two courses below DPC level, lay a geotextile membrane and back fill the trench with pea shingle?
My question is:
What kind of geo textile membrane to use - is weed control fabric adequate?
How deep do I need to dig the trench and up to what level do I backfill with pea shingle?
How do I build around the drain gulleys?
Will those grey edging bricks retain the existing driveway or if it needs support how would you support it?
