Hi,
We’re currently in the process of creating a seating area in our garden that will be covered with a membrane and gravel/stones.
The levels along one side of our house (next to a recently constructed extension) would mean the ground level of the seating area would be c.1.5 bricks below the DPC level, whereas building regs stipulate 2 bricks or 150mm.
Question - I want to avoid having to dig the whole area out so that it is at least 2 bricks below the dpc, so is there any way around this? If we filled a gap immediately adjacent to the house wall with gravel/stones, would this do the job?
Incidentally, one of the drains for the gutters on the side of the house/extension in question is already set higher than 2 bricks (it’s about 1.5 bricks below the DPC as well).
Any advice welcome - thanks in advance!
