Hi,

I've removed a small chimney flue in the corner of a room. The brickwork can be plastered on directly from my point of view (preparation aside), but the top of the area, by the ceiling has a hollowed out area where the flue is set back a further brick's depth from the main surface of the wall. Is it possible to fill the area (it's probably less that a foot square) with some kind of compound to bring it in line with the rest of the brickwork, or framework and plasterboard (is this possible next to a plain brick surface)?

i'm sorry if the explanation is a bit garbled. Please ask questions to help qualify what I am after.

Thanks

Anything is possible, how deep is the recess?
You could do a number of things, render to level, dab some plasterboards, lay some brick work!

Cheers for that, while working on clearing it up this afternoon I realised that the sloping part of the recess was easily removeable, leaving me with a space I can brick up so I can, hopefully, plaster it all in the same way.

Thanks so much for responding
