How to Rectify Poor Gloss Finish on Interior Panel Door

Hi

I stupidly applied a gloss paint to an interior panel door using a roller and the finish is awful (see photo)

My regular decorator said the best way to rectify the situation is to use wet and dry sandpaper to remove the existing paint and then gloss again using a paint brush to achieve the shiny gloss finish I’m after.

Do you agree and if so, what grit sandpaper should I use to remove the existing paint?

Take door off and lay down.
Much easier to paint. Will be a better finish using gravity.
120 Grade then 180 grade sandpaper.
