How to reduce pressure of Worcester Greenstar combi boiler?

Hi,

The pressure was sitting low on our boiler so I opened the flow loop to increase it to 1.5 bar. When I looked the next day it had gone up to 3 bar and now I don't know what to do to reduce it. It stays there whether the heating is on or off.

My husband bled the radiators but it hasn't dropped. I have tried turning the screw on the flow loop again to see if water is passing but it doesn't sound like it is. You can't hear a flow of water like we could previously. Any ideas ?

you could have a blocked/restricted gauge which could be slow to respond, if not disconnect filling loop to confirm it is/isn't passing.try this 1st then try and bleed 2/3 jugs woth of water from radiator.

depends if your filling loop is external or not, but going on your thread it should be the silver braided pipe connecting two pipes, it is this braided pipe you need to remove by unscrewing it off each valve it connects to,you may need some pliers to start it off! make sure your only undoing the braided pipe connections, not the valves onto the copper pipes!

Hmmmm? I'm a little scared to be mucking about with it. Maybe I should leave it to a professional? I have an appointment booked for a boiler service on 30th. We're still getting hot water and heat from the radiators. Would it be ok to leave it for 2 weeks sitting at 3 bar?

who is your service with, cos i would probably phone them and tell them you have a problem, cos they can then make the time available to attend to the problem as well as the service, cos they will only be expecting time for the service on the job.
