The people who decorated my house before did a shoddy job painting the walls without using masking tape.

What is the best way to remove the vynil wall paint from UPVC frames, tiles and gloss paint without damaging the adjacent painted wall?

Thanks

For the uPVC and tiles I would recommend a typical scraper with a razor blade. They are typically used for removing paint from glass (although my mum uses one to clean her halogen hob)

Pull it towards you, rather then push away to stop the blade digging in and ruining the PVC.

For gloss, its a bit more tricky, i would personally paint over it with more gloss!

meths will soften emulsion paint so you can rub it off. it evaporates and runs off quickly, so mix it with washing up liquid to thicken it. If you wet a piece of kitchen roll with it and press it to the paint, it will stay in place long enough. Otherwise you can keep brushing it on with a soft paintbrush.

For Years I have kept a pack of the Plastic Scouring Pads in the van to clean off Emulsion Paint spots,
Dip into warm water and they remove spots from just about anything without any damage

I have had good results with CIF cream cleaner, or specialist uPVC cream cleaner. Not sure how it would do with gloss, but with emulsion it works.
