Hi,

Been asked to fix a shower - recessed two way diverter/thermostat. The thermostat handle is quite stiff and when you turn it, the cartridge behind also moves, so the water is stuck on very hot. Owner doesn't know the make.

Anyone know how to get this sort of plate off? Think it might just be siliconed. Each control has 4 little handles, managed to unscrew a couple of those little handles but this didn't reveal any hidden grub screws or anything. Also managed to pull a chromed sealing ring out away from the wall (see middle control, that's the thermostat) Don't want to just try pulling the handles off as that could simply break the thing?

If the plate is just siliconed, any tip on how to get through it without breaking the wall tile? Was going to try and slide a long stanley/snap-off blade betwen the tile and plate.

Thanks.

Trying to put a pic of it here:
