Hi,
I'm new to this forum and would appreciate any advice any of you can give. I own a downstairs flat that I bought after it had been unoccupied for three years. I had a tanking system put in in May 2011 to sort a rising damp problem. One area quite high up on the wall never dried out and I understand that the upstairs flat had a water leak in 2009 that affected this wall. Before I had the wall skimmed you couldn't see that there was any damage to this high area of wall but when it was skimmed it became really obvious, I've tried an industrial de-humidifier this didn't dry it out. I tried putting on the heating full blast for 2 weeks but it appears to dry out and then when the heating stops a large damp patch just below the ceiling re-appears. What would be the best way to sort this problem? You can smell the damp in the room Help! Thanks!
