Hi,
I'm trying to replace a two way switch in one of my barns. The previous owner used indoor switches outside! so I'm replacing all the light switches and sockets with weatherproof ones.
I've replaced the one way switch now I have a two way which has confused me slightly. In the old switch L1=Live L2=Switched live L3=Yellow wire. On my new switch I have L=Live and X and another X, so can I connect the switched live to one of the X's and the yellow wire to the other X? Hope that makes sense.

Thanks in advance.

That's probably the way to connect it.

Do you only have 3 conductors (plus earth, I hope...) at the switch?

Are they Red, Blue & Yellow?

What's at the other 2-way switch?

Yes its a 4 core cable, red, blue, yellow, earth.
The other switch is:
L1=Blue
L2=Yellow
L3=Red

Is that correct?

Thanks

Well after tracing all the cables this is what I have found:
Power supply to switch
4 core cable from switch to other switch.
They have then tapped into the 4 core cable to the light unit.
