How to replace broken glass and lead cane in an old door

Id remove.
Get a single pain cut.
Fit
Putty up
Paint.
Stick new lead to glass to make it like a 4 pain window.
Why complicate it. DIY person could do that without much difficulty

Just be careful.if you think you are going to repair, as if either dimensions of that broken bit is greater than 250mm then , legally, it has to be a safety glass ( eg toughened )
What you've quoted above is what others have suggested , and any company that manufactures decorative glass will be able to make it but it will be very unlikely that they will be able to match that existing obscure glass... maybe a ' film ' ( within the sealed unit ) might be closer than a Pilkingtons Obscure Glass. If you have a big enough rebate you could get a thicker sealed unit in there too.
He mentions about it fitting in directly, I'd check on his warranty for how it is to be fitted too, as I don' t know any sealed unit manufacturer that will warranty sealed units if put in with putty, also how much of the ' spacer bar ' and sealant will be seen , ideally you need at least 12-15mm rebate to hide the ' spacer bar and sealant '. Having said that he may be using a ' stepped unit ' where the entire inner pane sits visble internally and the larger outer pane sits in the rebate
