I have installed a new water indirect cylinder and have managed to seal all the fittings except the emersion element which continues to seep water.

I have used 'BOSS Super Green Jointing Compound' but it never quite seems to seal the emersion. Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop the leak? Do I need to use some tape with the jointing compound?

Immersions should be fitted with the correct gasket, The threads are too loose and coarse to seal with pastes or PTFE properly . Make sure the sealing faces are clean and smooth and tighten using an immersion key, stilsons etc are okay but dont apply even pressure and can make the threads bind and make you think its tight when it isnt .
gOOD LUCK :D

These should seal easily with a new washer. A smear of silicone may help.
