Hi all I just ordered a 43inch Sky Glass and wall mount. As below.

I already have a tv wall mounted using an unknown wall mount left by previous owner. However, my previous wall mount from amazon below worked for my tv. I dont have this wall mount from amazon anymore though

When Sky made the order they recommended I purchased their own specific Sky Glass Wall Mount as they said the Sky Glass rv may not fit on my current wall mount. So wondering if anyone knows

A).Will my current wall mount be suitable for the Sky Glass 43inch tv?

B ) If not will I have to remove the wall mount current in the wall as well as the part that attaches to the TV? Or just remove the part that attaches to the tv and not the part on the wall?

I asked if they can wall mount it but they said they do not do this.

Cancel cancel cancel. $ky Glass has a very very bad picture quality reputation for the exorbitant cost.
Or at least they did. Check sensible review sites like AVForums.

Buy a decent TV and rent the $ky Stream box instead https://www.sky.com/glass/buy/stream/base-pack?irct=web-tv_tv-hero-gbr-upsell-stream-all-acq

As far as the mount goes what are the Glass Vesa mount dimensions 200x300, 200x 200 etc.,. and measure what the existing mount can do. If they match it'll fit.

Yes the reason we are getting sky glass tv is because since we moved in ever couple of days the network losses connection on the sky box looses connection to the sky hub and asked ages to reset it. We have done everything moved the hub closer even though it's only 12 feet away, changed hubs changed boxes had 3 different engineers out, added a booster etc etc and after a year we are sick of the issue. So we were told that if we get sky glass we won't have that issue anymore as it's not going to need to be connected via the WiFi network to the box anymore. Does that sound right?

Also have been told we could just get a ethernet cable and connect the sky box to the sky hub and then the sky box wouldn't keep disconnecting from the sky network connection? Do you think we should just do this?

No it won't fix the dodgy WiFi signals...
Most likely is congestion in the locality (other wifi networks from neighbours).

$ky Q or old-fashioned $ky HD?

A cable is always better than wifi. Get some ethernet cables installed asap and forget Glass.
I hate Powerline adapters but they can work OK if both the $ky box and $ky router (hub) are on the same ring main.

Really. I was told the TV will be connecting via a more updated modern connection to the WIFI as the sky box is a older connection and was told that this would solve the issue?

Maybe I should cancel and just get a very long ethernet cable?

Really.

Cabled ethernet connections are invariably more reliable than flaky wifi.
Even the most recent wifi stuff has issues.

Yes.

After alot of research I have canceled sky glass. Hope they don't turn off my skyq box at the weekend when it was due to be delivered.

Got an email saying welcome to skygo so not understanding that. Did get a cancellation email too.

Can't believe the guy at sky who sold me glass was adamant it would solve the connection issue. Guess he saw it as a opportunity to get some commission maybe.

Now just going to try the ethernet cable option to try and solve the loss of connection issue.

Sky just want to sell **** , double check your cancellation , Sky are very good at billing you even after you left them, which I would recommend .

Thanks. Yes will check. Good advise.

I've connected the box to the router via an ethernet cable but it's not recognising it even though I followed the instructions with a sky adviser. They have booked me an appointment for a sky engineer to come out in 10 days to connect my sky router with the sky box. Well it's already connected but cant get it to reconise it. Probably really easy.

Why does it have a different name on the network on the tv to the name on the bottom of the aky router? The network name on tv says SKY****( but on the bottom of router it says sky****? I've blanked out the full name ?
