trying to wire a batton light to a single switch to a existing light rose
need help please :( :(

see this

If you look at the 2nd drawing down you will see that is a standard ceiling rose, you will have to put your wires in connector block except for the switch wire and two neutrals which will coonect to your batten holder. some batten holders have a third bigger terminal this is not earth but a "loop in" terminal so no connector block required (except for the earth)

or do you mean that you want to ADD a batten light and switch and feed it from an existing ceiling rose? if you do then see the 1st drawing and the end that are not shown are connected to the existing ceiling rose.

red going to the red black going to the two blacks and earth going to earth
(looking at drawing Number 2)
