Hi, hopefully this will be a simple question. I am currently installing a Honeywell Galaxy G2 20 panel with mk7 keypad and the RF portal (and 2 AG8 bell boxes).

All was going fine until I got to the bit about unused zones. The manual includes the instruction below:

NOTE: It is recommended that all unused zones are programmed as Spare and that a 1kΩ 1% resistor is connected across each of these zones.

What does it mean by 'across each of these zones'? My guess would be that, if Zone 1 is to be unused that I would connect the resistor between Z1 and 0V?

Also, all of my detectors are RF ones so I will not be wiring any detectors up to the panel. Does this mean I should add the 1k resistor to every zone connection on the panel PCB?

Thanks,

iep
