Howdens Haworth/Tewkebury cornice fitting?

Does anyone know the procedure for fitting the cornice on a Howdens kitchen, its a framed Haworth base with Tewkesbury drawer & door fronts, the framed door overhang the wall units and the end panels are too big. How do I fit the cornice (DCK2330) underneath the cupboards as it doesn't look as straight forward as I thought it would be. Any kitchen fitters who have fitted one of these will know what I'm talking about and hopefully provide an answer.

Phoned Howdens, they say the solution is to fit the cornice behind the overlap on the door. So I gues thats it, however I have just found out that this range of kitchens has been discontinued because the door frames split during the fitting.
