Huge wasps nest removal

hello,
I've found a huge wasps nest in my attic (about 2 cubic feet ).
Do you think it's ok to remove it now in winter? I'm assuming that all the wasps are long dead and unlikely to return.
Anyone removed one of this size before and have any tips?

Dead as a doornail, mate.....but just to be on the safe side, use a vacuum cleaner with a long nozzle to help you!

As per John's advice, it'll be dead. It'll crumble into dust when you touch it, so perhaps try covering it with a poly bag before you touch it. Also, wasps don't re-use nests, but they might build next year's one next to it unless you can stop them getting in.
