Having never used one before, I wonder what the general opinions of other wiser, more experienced people than myself are on these gadgets?

We are considering installing them in a newbuild, in the bathrooms & drying rooms, as part of the control of extractor fans.

any tips / tricks? any preferred models or ones to avoid?
how do they work?

Some don't like as the can work erratically.
I quite like the DX100H and is reasonably priced but this will depend on the room size and the quantity you require to extract.
They simply work to remove humidity from the air in the location they are fitted, this can be set at a desired level, when level reached stat kicks in.
