i have a Hotpoint wmf740 door problem, please help

I have a Hotpoint wmf740 when i shut the door it closes and locks, but when i press the start button it makes 4 or 5 clicking noises i presume to lock the door properly however it does not, the display ow reads 'DOOR' and is flashing. Can you help

Check pcb connections are tight ,how many times a day is this mc used ,cos I done one today that's been used 6 times a day and it's done the brushes in in just over a year surposed to last 5 years.
