ICE told to get the eff out

A federal judge on Friday barred federal agents in Minneapolis from arresting peaceful protesters, or using nonlethal munitions and crowd control tools against them. The 80-page ruling by U.S. District Judge Kate Menendez, a Biden appointee who sits in Minneapolis, lands amid an increasingly confrontational dynamic between the Trump administration and Minnesota officials who have accused Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents of stoking fear and violence on local streets. And it comes a week after an ICE agent fatally shot Renee Good.

Menendez’s order bars Homeland Security and ICE officials involved in Operation Metro Surge from “using pepper-spray or similar nonlethal munitions and crowd dispersal tools against persons who are engaging in peaceful and unobstructive protest activity.” The judge also prohibited federal agents from stopping vehicles following them, as long as those vehicles are maintaining a safe and “appropriate” distance.

The judge found that the protesters (including R.N. Good) observed and criticized ICE officers, but “did not forcibly obstruct or impede the agents’ work,” and were otherwise non-violent and non-threatening. Politico

It still all boils down to common sense and seeing what happened with your eyes. We saw a couple of very obnoxious lesbians trying it on with Ice. Obstructing the road and driving and impacting an agent. Surely the lawyers must look at this and think. She got shot through her own doing. Her wife instigated it as well. Unfortunately she died from her injuries. That wasn’t the ICE agents fault. It was hers.
The ICE agents were not in danger and did not get injured, so they should not have shot Renee Good in the head.

If British police were like ICE, they'd be shooting people in the head after every car chase on those police camera action TV programmes.

Maybe you would like to live in a lawless society. I don’t.

When have I ever drove my car at a police man when told to get out of my car.

You said "...... obstructing..... places all parties in jeopardy", although that was a week ago ;-)

  • Local police officers don’t need a warrant when they encounter someone breaking the law in a public space, and the same holds true for ICE officers.
  • Obstructing or otherwise interfering with an ICE arrest is a crime, and anyone involved may be subject to prosecution under federal law. In addition, encouraging others to interfere or attempt to obstruct an arrest is extremely reckless and places all parties in jeopardy.
