Good afternoon all.

I moved onto my new house 11 months ago and the place has been a massive project. In tackling all the big stuff, I’ve ignored the smaller stuff until now. I have an exceptionally ugly front door step (pictures attached) and need some advice for what to do with it.

If I’d had organised things better, I’d have knocked the step out, however I’ve already put in a new door frame and door. There’s a 13mm gap between the step and the bottom of the door, so a desired solution would be something to cover the step. Is a PVC step something that is viable and how would I go about getting it made?

Thanks for any suggestions in advance.

Hi, the actual step is 940x240x45mm. The width between the frame is 840mm and 820mm where the door sits. The clearance from the step to the door is 13mm with no variance along the length of the door.

I’m quite happy to fit something that goes beyond the length of the step and fits between the two walls, rather than only covering the step itself.

What about overcladding in Brushed stainless steel finish?

Anything painted may scratch off.
