But if the hex was gone (twin pass hex) then it would do it when being used or not.?
Also If water turned off to boiler at isolator, then tap opened, if hex was gone then boiler pressure would drop to zero!
Same as happens with a plate!

We have an Ideal Response 100. Our pressure tends to increase slightly during the summer (when it's warmer) - it was on 1.1 in mornings, now on about 1.2bar. In the winter it tends to drop by the same amount.

If it continues to rise much more, then as a lay person I would be looking to see if the valve which lets water into the filling loop is slightly open (as mentioned before). You can easily take the filling loop off yourself. Once the filling valve has had chance to dry out, you will see if it is leaking (if you're not sure what I'm talking about, refer to the manufacturers booklet). By the way, is this a separate problem from the fan, ie has it occurred since the engineer came to look at the fan. He may have topped the system up and not shut the filling valve off totally.
