ideal classic pilot extinguishes, smell of gas from flue

title says it all really. tried to find answers without posting as i'm sure i'm not the first to have this issue, but can't find anything specific to this boiler and i don't know enough to assume advice for other models is appropriate... the smell is intermittent (as is the pilot light!)
