Ideal Combi - No Hot Water Upstairs

Hi folks,

We’ve not got any hot water upstairs - no water flows through any of the hot taps (two bathrooms upstairs) when on hot, however normal flow through cold taps.

Thinking it’s related to pressure? We’ve got a mains fed shower upstairs - currently only delivering cold water however water does flow through the hot taps when the shower is turned on.

We have an ideal combi boiler. Heating is working as normal and no impact to hot water downstairs. What’s your thoughts?

Do you mean no water flows at all from some hot taps ,or water flows but it's just not hot ?
Is shower a thermostatic mixer fed from the combi ,or is it electric instantaneous type ?

No hot water flows from taps when on hot. The shower does flow however it’s cold- it’s a thermostatic shower.

Correct yes - both sinks are mixer taps.
As soon as you move it towards cold, (cold) water flows

Is the pressure at your cold taps strong ?
I realise you told us you have a combi boiler , do you have a hot water cylinder ?
If you don't have a hot water cylinder ,and your boiler is definitely a combi, and your cold taps pressure is strong ,then there is a restriction on the Pipework to hot taps in question.
Are there isolation valves anywhere that may have been meddled with ?
Or both taps are independently faulty

Think there’s a restriction in the system by the sounds of it - new build property with no hot water cylinder. Yes it’s defo a combi!

No issues with cold pressure - still very strong.

Sure, both taps have the same feed setup.

You have isolation valves on hot and cold supplies in pic. If you close the hot isolator ,and undo the Flexi to hot tap from it, then open the hot isolator ( only a little bit at a time as water may start to flow from it ,have a big towel there). If water flows from the isolator ,the Flexi or the tap is your problem.
If water does not flow freely from the isolator then the Pipework is restricted upstream.
