Hi there
I have an Ideal E Type RS Balanced Flue Gas Boiler controlled by a Honeywell timer. Over the summer the heating was set to Off and the water was left to come on twice a day as normal. Since the weather got colder I slid the heating switch on the timer over to it's normal "Twice" setting and the boiler fired up as normal.
About an hour later I checked it and the power to the timer had gone off - no digital clock display or little red led's to indicate the power or operating state. I pressed the little reset button on the front of the timer and it came back on. I set the clock and the on/off times again and put the hot water and heating back on "Twice". Again, a short time later I came back and the same thing had happened. The little Honeywell box seems to trip out - but not immediately.
The pilot light doesn't go out and now that I've put the timer back on Heating Off and Hot Water Twice it does exactly what it should. Have tried to get a heating engineer out but none of the local ones return my call...
Any ideas as to what could be wrong? I don't have a thermostat anywhere in the house. I just have my boiler set to 4 or 5 at the moment.
Thanks!
