Ideal Elan 2 Heat Exchanger

I have a Stelrad Ideal Elan 2 boiler.It appears the heat exchanger is faulty and needs to be replaced.However my plumber says its impossible to get these now and is pushing to replace the whole system.
Can anyone help ?.I understand the system is old and am planning to replace but not just yet ! Kids are freezing and I'm worried I'm getting stung.

the whole system? why not just the boiler and update the system? oh and the powerflush rather important but often ignored

In which case it needs a good clean more than anything.
