I had my Icos boiler fitted a good few years ago and not had a problem until now. We have no heating (not a problems yet) and no hot water. The light which usually shows the letter C or number 1 has gone out. If I switch the water or heating on at the small unit underneath it sounds as if the boiler is working but does not produce the goods :(

Can anyone help. I am happy to try and resolve this myself as money is an object I just need good instructions

I am not sure to be honest, I dont know where to look for it  What I have found out is that it only sounds like it is working when I try to put the water on and not the heating

I see this is a double post and the other post has been answered by someone telling quite rightly that you can't fix the boiler yourself and suggesting that you take out aninsurance policy with British Gas or similar.

You can't work on the gas boiler, but you can check the basics, like power on , pilot light lit, but if you don't know how to check the pilot then I've got to agree with the other reply, get someone in who is qualified.

Not a DIY boiler and there is no pilot on this model. Blank display can be as simple as the PCB fuse blown, or failure of PCB and user control, Either way it means calling someone in for a repair. BG do a fixed price repair for about £200 which for these boilers is a bargain.
