The Ideal Response 120 looked nice and compact when it came out.

The Logic looks alright to me but I haven't fitted one.

I appreciate Ideal as a company for providing half my breakdown work, and when it's a burned out or leaking heat exchanger I get to sell a new boiler. Don't knock 'em they keep us in work.

So your saying the only reason you fit ideals is so that they break down and you can then go back and fix them? That is a terrible attitude

that is not the reason i fit ideals, Ideal boilers are a good boilers.

but if i was one of those who fitted the worcester 240ff id be broke now wouldn't i?

what would you be doing now if central heating boilers & systems did not brake down? we as engineers need boilers to go faulty..

your proberly the type of person that believes theres still weapons of mass destruction in Iraq!

what planet are you living on name one ideal boiler that is 'good' apart from the ideal classic and mexico and even then thats down to the technological capabilities of the time/era

why dont you just come out the flipping closet and expose your self as the ideal salesman you are your proberly the managing directors sibbling or something, im actually upset as to how you could come to the conclusion that ideal boilers are 'good' i feel patronised

i havent got a problem with people having an opinion about ideal boilers
but to constantly moan about ideal boilers when posting on this forum is the reason the ideal posters dont come on here,we know a lot of members dont like ideal,we get the message but we are coming on here to give free advice and can do without the same five or six members moans, people are missing out on their boilers being fixed because of it,

Thanks for the mixed replies,
in my own experience ideals are not as bad as everyone makes out as a rule i repaire more w/bs than anything els at home ive got an icos 9 yrs old only had front off once last wk when it started to self service ( explosive ign when cold ) just cleaned electrode & ign sensor now ok have ordered ign / earth upgrade, when i fitted it i put in double the ammount of inhibitor, most of the problem ones i see are in local authority / housing assn stock maybee the instalation was not up to standard not correctly flushed etc. I will try a logic + as 5 yrs guarantee is prety good.

can i clear something up chaps just to be clear. I DONT WORK FOR IDEAL BOILERS. if the customer has money to burn i put a greenstar in if not Ideal logic plus are a vgood close second.

I see the IDEAL DEFENSE LEAGUE is in town ,well lets look at the merits of your new boiler ..................The ideal logic ,another untested untried piece of equipement unleashed on the great British public

What exactly do you have to back up this wonderful warranty or is it going to be more of the same when things go wrong,do the usaul and blame the poor installer

I will not stake my reputation on this piece of kit, when things go wrong and as they will with all boilers its how the manufacturer deals with the problem set apart a great company from medicore one and then of course there is IDEAL!

We are independant so dont have to answer to anyone in our choice and a few freebies thrown in from plumb centre will not bribe us to use our customers as the ideal guinea pigs

Any independent who fits ideal with what is available to them on the market needs his head examined and im sure they will learn their lesson when things go wrong as inevitably they will

A few alternatives with 5 warranties and which will be honoured are Remeha, the vaillant, veissmann and Ariston and even Baxi

Why would you want to fit a lemon from IDEAL

The most important people to me is my customers and the relationship i maintain with them, some customers i deal with i am now onto their second and third generations, this is purely due to the commitment and trust they have with our professionalism and workmanship.
A good reputation takes a long time time to attain, one which can be lost overnight when you dont think of the customer first

Ideal thanks but no thanks :D :D :D

My 2 pees worth, first the basics.
I do not and never have worked for or have any affiliation with Ideal Boilers.
I do agree that some of the past products have been a tad iffy. The new Logic has gone through extensive factory testing, as with most boilers after some factory testing they get released onto the unsuspecting trade/public being hailed as the best thing since sliced bread. The wrinkles and faults then get ironed out, occasionally requiring a safety recall/warning because something has failed that did not occur during inadequate testing. ie hex seals, gas valves, pcbs.
The Logic went from the factory, and out into real houses for real people to use and abuse before being launched. I was fortunate to be in right place/ right time and managed to get a prototype, its been in ages and has not missed a beat.
It is one of the quietest combi's I have heard.

I use to fit Worcester boilers until i saw one of their reps do a trade event where they stripped the boiler down in minutes. The fan came out in 20 secs and not the normal 15 mins to take out worcester fan. The boiler is very easy to fit and you do not need to build like the worcseter. I also have since been to the factory and have seen the level of testing on the product that goes on with every that they build. It is also built and designed in this country. tHIS IS THE EASIEST BOILER THAT I HAVE EVERY FITTED AND SAVED ME 2 HOURS OVER THE WORCESTER
