Hi, was looking for some advice on behalf of my dad.
His heating only seems to be heating up to around 40degrees which makes the radiators only luke warm. There is a room stat which we have bypassed to eliminate that being at fault.
The pump is working fine and the hot water side of things is fine.
Could this be an issue with the internal thermostat?
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

If the left pipe under the boiler is also only warm then its a boiler problem.

Did this start suddently?

Has anyone touched the PCB ?

Is water leaking onto the CH temperature sensor?

Tony

Hi, it started when he turned on after it not being on throughout the summer ( central heating side of things).
I'll check the pipe on left that you mention next time I'm down visiting.
No one has touched PCB or any other components and there doesn't seem to be any water leaking.
It just seems to stay at 40 degrees when its set to 90, and every minute or so it it fires up to maintain the 40 degrees.
Thanks for your reply.

I still want those answers.

You could take off diverter valve motor and push down valve pin and hold it down for 10 min and see what difference that makes.

Check the gland is not leaking!

Tony

I will try my best to try the diverter valve and answer your questions,
I would need to look out the instructions to see where it is, and what it looks like!
I'm a spark so not too clued up on boilers,
Was hoping it would be something simple, but unfortunately these things never are lol.
Thanks

Sorry to dig out an old post, just a wee update incase anyone else comes across similar problem..
It turned out to be the thermister which was a nice easy cheap fix for a change!

Thanks

What you should have done before anything else would have been to measure the resistance of both temperature sensors.

I am sorry that I did not get that far but I seemed to be having some difficulty getting your answers.

I am glad its OK now.

Tony
