Hi, I am trying to identify the replacement cistern parts for an ideal standard toilet, but no joy. Can anyone suggest the best way of finding out what the correct parts to buy are?
Thanks

Forget the ideal standard brand name and search for fill valve or push button flush valve depending on what the problem is.

Just because the toilet cistern and bowl are Ideal Standard it doesn't mean that the inlet valve and flush valve are the same manufacturer - in fact it's quite unlikely that a manufacturer of ceramic goods would also make plastic valves.
If you still can't find the parts you need, replacement of the fill or flush valves is pretty simple - and they are quite cheap.

Which are you having problems with. If it is the fill valve you can probably get a new washer. Other than that then google " bottom entry flush and fill valves". But you will need the correct size for the holes in the cistern.

If you toilet is still running after flushing then get hold of middle bit and give it a quarter turn there is a silicone /rubber washer on the bottom that wear .
Just change the washer part number SV01967 plumbcentre usually have them on shelf .

Is there an easy way to identify what replacement part? I have searched and can't find it. I can't see anything to identify the part when I look at the item

This is the third time I have had someone in to replace a washer / part, I want a new one as this one is not reliable

Thanks, it continues to run, but also the cistern is not filling up now, it is just running into the cistern, but as per my other comment, I would ideally replace the whole thing as it seems to keep failing
