The new flooring for my bathroom will be at a slightly higher level than the bottom of the bath panel. Fine if I never want to remove the panel but supposing I do? (The panel has to be lifted up and tilted out at the bottom; currently it has a silicone beading at the bottom which can be sliced.)

My thought is to have vinyl tiles or vinyl sheet coming up to within an inch of the bath and then having a wood or aluminium finishing strip screwed down to cover the gap. Would this look like a bodge? Are there any better suggestions?
