Even Hong Kong changed its cable colours in 2007 to match the then new UK Colour code, despite being a part of China at that time. It happened to be the Tenth Anniversary of the Handover on 01/07/1997, when the Hong Kong colour codes changed to match the UK Colour Code - a completely voluntary change in a part of China!!
